Making change requires three things: will, knowledge and ability. You need the willingness to start and carry through with the change. You need to know the right type of change to make, how to make it and what success looks like. You also need the means to create the change you want and measure the results.
Inside every company, there are people who want to make change. They know that work can be better, things can run faster, business can be more sustainable and value can be greater. They have the will. They just need the knowledge and the ability. This summer, Celonis is touring the world, bringing both. As Batian Nominacher, Celonis Managing Director, Co-CEO and Co-Founder, said, “helping change-makers become game-changers.”
At the kick-off stop on the Celonis World Tour 2023 in Munich and during subsequent stops, Celonis executives highlighted how the process mining company and its community of partners and customers are driving wins across the top, bottom and green lines by finding and capturing hidden value opportunities.

“It’s not magic…it’s not luck..it's process,” said Nominacher during the Munich keynote event on May 23. He explained:
“Processes make everything happen. They’re the fabric of your business. Processes make value repeatable. No matter who’s in your organization or what technologies you’re using, the quality of your processes dictates the amount of value your people are able to deliver with the systems you have in place. Processes are your greatest lever for value and your fastest lever for change.”
"The world is a much better place with better processes in it," said Alexander Rinke, Celonis Co-CEO and Co-Founder, during the keynote in New York. He added:
"Celonis layers on top of existing systems, giving you a living, breathing, moving picture of your organization. Then we identify and prioritize the most impactful opportunities within your processes, ready for the picking."

In San Francisco, Gene Reznik, SVP, Ecosystem & Industries at Celonis, emphasized the importance of driving change to create cash value, customer value and sustainable business value. He said:
“For customers it means leading the charge on continuous value extraction, and the ability to have data-driven conversations. For partners it means seizing on a new technology to reinvent how you deliver engagements — it’s the first big step change in how consulting delivers transformation projects in decades.”
The importance of process mining as a key enterprise technology was highlighted earlier this year when Gartner® published its first Magic Quadrant™ for Process Mining Tools. According to Gartner, “by 2025, 80% of organizations driven by the expectations of cost reduction and automation-derived enhanced process efficiency will embed process mining capabilities in at least 10% of their business operations.”
Several Celonis customers were featured at the first two World Tour stops, including Mercedes-Benz.
Mercedes-Benz is using Celonis on a pilot project for shortage management, an important topic for companies in light of supply chain disruptions. Arzu Özkolaçık, Team Lead MB Operations at Mercedes-Benz Group AG, joined Remy Lazarovici Managing Director DACH at Celonis, on stage during the keynote for a fireside chat. Before implementing Celonis, the automaker was managing supply chain bottlenecks manually using spreadsheets. Özkolaçık said Mercedes-Benz is using Celonis to digitize their manual decision templates and connect their site-specific systems more closely to deliver greater transparency, break down silos and make faster, better decisions.
“Ultimately, our goal is to control material flows intelligently with Celonis in order to optimize our production output,” said Özkolaçık. “If we can ultimately get more cars onto the road each week, that will be a huge success.”
In a press release, Travis Cain, Senior Director Enterprise Architecture & Data Science Experience for Dell Technologies, said they looked forward to extending the company’s usage of Celonis. They said:
“The Celonis Execution Management System has already provided us with tremendous benefits, including the ability to more easily find bottlenecks in our processes and get to deeper business insights more quickly. Using Celonis’ process mining capabilities gives us insights into the complexity of our operations and helps us to drive rapid business value by improving the performance of our core business processes.”
During the event, Martin Klenk, Celonis Co-Founder and CTO, outlined several product updates and recent innovations that showcase how the company is making its Celonis EMS platform more intuitive, more open and more intelligent.
Object-Centric Data Model: Built on object-centric process mining (OCPM), the Celonis Object-Centric Data Model is an extensible data representation of an entire business. It acts as a single source of truth for all process intelligence and serves as the core of an organization’s digital twin. The Object-Centric Data Model is generally available now.
Process Sphere enhancements: Process Sphere™ is a capability of Celonis EMS that uses OCPM to provide end-to-end visibility of business operations. The Process Sphere enhancements will enable customers to explore multi-object processes and relationships and improve bottleneck detection. Analysts will also see recommended prompts and suggested use cases that they can use to structure their analysis, and will be able to better assess process conformance and deviations against process models. The Process Sphere enhancements will enter general availability in the Fall 2023.

Multi-Object Process Explorer: An enhanced version of the Celonis Process Explorer, the Multi-Object Process Explorer allows users to explore how objects relate to each other and how an event relates to multiple objects involved in a process, something not possible with traditional process mining. Customers can use the new tool for initial exploratory analysis and from there, create custom views that address complex multi-object relationships in the Celonis Studio.
End-to-End Lead Times App: The End-to-End Lead Times App provides supply chain transparency and enables customers to reveal and mitigate bottlenecks in the creation of finished goods from sourcing raw material to final delivery. With this information, the company said, supply leaders can act more accurately and quickly to “improve service levels and accelerate cash conversion through better working capital.” The End-to-End Lead Times App is generally available now.
Business Miner General Availability: Announced at Celosphere 2022, Business Miner™, a Celonis EMS feature that allows users to find and fix broken processes using a question-and-answer-based interface, entered general availability in May.
Intelligence API: The Intelligence API was first announced at Celosphere 2022. The API is a software interface designed to provide governed access to Celonis Intelligence for use in third-party tools and platforms. It is key to enabling Celonis Experiences and the company’s vision to meet customers on any platform where they work with actionable insights. The Intelligence API entered general availability in March 2023.
LLM for PQL Generation: LLM for PQL Generation is a Celonis EMS feature (currently in beta) that uses natural language processing (NLP) to translate natural language statements, queries and instructions into PQL. Created in partnership with Rollio, a developer of online virtual AI assistants, LLM for PQL Generation is a new way of combining process intelligence and generative AI to enable everyone in the business to analyze and optimize processes.
“Our customers and partners are doing incredible things with Celonis,” said Klenk. “They’re continually pushing at the boundaries of what the technology is capable of, helping us to take our product to new heights. Their innovation is the inspiration for how we continue to build out the next stage of Celonis’ future.”
World Tour 2023 features 10 stops around the world including Munich, Milan, San Francisco, Madrid, Amsterdam, Tokyo, New York, London, Paris and Chicago. Each additional stop features Celonis ecosystem partners, customers and process experts from across industries sharing best practices and knowledge.
