Let’s start with a bold idea: the future of work isn’t humans versus machines. It’s humans and AI working in harmony to make processes smarter, faster and more impactful. At Celonis, our vision is a world where processes work — for people, companies and the planet. And we’re building the technology and community to make it reality.
Celonis Labs plays a huge role in that mission. This “collective of innovators, researchers and concept designers” is constantly imagining and inventing new ways for the world to work. Beyond, the Celonis Labs journal, is our chance to shine a light on their efforts. It’s also a way we highlight the latest analysis, research and Process Intelligence projects from our community to gamechangers— those who know processes are our greatest lever for value and fastest lever for change.
“The future isn’t just smart—it’s intelligent, collaborative and human-centered.”
In our first edition, we explored concepts like business collaboration networks, zero-trust sharing and business domain translation. In the second edition, we continued our examination of collaborative networks and expanded into areas like generative AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), process-centric IT platforms and Object-Centric Process Mining.
With Beyond Journal, third edition, we dive deeper into AI’s ability to augment human effort and ingenuity. We explore how Process Intelligence is the foundation and catalyst that makes AI work for the enterprise—not just in theory, but in real, measurable ways. We showcase how our Celonis Ecosystem partners are building innovative solutions across new domains using the Process Intelligence platform and push further into the concept of the collaborative network. There’s also a section with abstracts from the latest research and Master Thesis papers from across our Academic Alliance.
We’re also pleased to include special guest contributions from Stefan Schmidt, Chief Product Officer at Emporix, Erik Bakstad, CEO and Co- Founder of Ardoq and Wolfgang Kratsch, Professor for Applied AI at Technical University of Applied Sciences Augsburg and Fraunhofer-Institut für Angewandte Informationstechnik FIT. And, there’s an interview featuring Celonis customers Conrad Electronic, Schukat electronic, and TD SYNNEX.
So, let’s look beyond what we know today. Because in the world of Process Intelligence, the possibilities are endless—and we’re just getting started.
